From Paid to Free Virtual Assistant Course

About a week ago, I launched my very first course. “The 4-Step Guide to Kickstart Your VA Career.” Honestly, I was just testing the waters. Sabi ko nga, “Try ko lang, baka sakali.”

Pero ayun na nga, nagulat ako sa dami ng nag message. Curious sila. Tatanungin kung anong laman ng course, paano siya makakatulong, at magkano. For almost half of the week, sinasagot ko isa isa. Yes, paid course siya. Pero habang tumatagal, andami kong natatanggap na real talk stories, especially from fellow Filipinas.

Mga single moms, students, men and women from BPOs, and even outside the Philippines. Lahat gusto lang matuto, makahanap ng trabaho bilang VA, makapag provide sa pamilya.

And then it hit me. Ang bigat sa dibdib.p

Yes, I worked hard for this course. But knowing na gusto lang talaga nila magsimula ng tama, tapos kailangan pa nilang mamroblema sa bayad? Ay, ang hirap pala ng ganon.

I created this course to help. Pero bakit parang kailangan pa nilang “bayaran” yung chance to start right? Ang dami na daw nila nasalihan na webinars then sa huli wala talagang learning or kung "paano" need talaga magbayad... Di na ko mapakali...

Tapos ayun, I removed the sign-up form sa website na nag-aask ng proof of payment. I edited my Quick Replies, I made it say the course is free.

I realized, I’ve been waiting to reach this “successful” level before I start helping others. Pero paano kung matagal pa yun? Bakit hindi ngayon?

So ayun, one unplanned but wholehearted decision later. I made the course FREE. As in, libre. Wala kang kailangang bayaran. Walang catch.

As of writing, may 44 participants na! And I’m soooo happy kasi hindi sila passive. They’re really doing the work. Submitting outputs, asking for feedback, and taking the course seriously.

Nakakakilig yung feeling na makita silang motivated. Ibang level. I’m cheering for them every step of the way.

Sana matapos nila ang free virtual assistant course na ’to na handa, confident, at ready to face the real world of being a VA kahit ano pang niche ang piliin nila.

Hindi ito perfect launch. Walang grand marketing. Pero ito yung launch na hindi ko makakalimutan. Kasi hindi lang siya tungkol sa course, it’s about purpose.
